In January 2018 I committed to a new challenge – to become cycle confident. My total cycle experience included owning a bike till the age of 12yrs, at which point I stopped as NZ brought in the ‘must wear a cycle helmet’ law, which meant at 12yrs wearing a helmet was very uncool! Since then my biking experience can be counted on one hand.

So how do you go from a non-cyclist, to cycling the length of the UK? All it took was a decision and a question. The decision to become cycle confident and the question to a friend asking if I could tag along on her UK journey. There were many reasons why my friend Linda could have said no.
